Cavergno is on the third place in the Vallemaggia, what concerns the number of inhabitants. Numerous young families are living in this community. -This is a guarantee for further development -. To stay in Cavergno is made easy by the available infrastructure. Two pizzerias are opened the year over. In one of them, in Restaurant Bocciodromo, you will find two covered bocciacourts.

There are two butchers, two hairdressers, a bank and a post office. In the neighbouring Cevio, which is only 3 km away from Cavergno, their is a chemist's shop and a District Hospital with an emergency unit. In Cevio their is also a Coop-Shopping-center and you will find there a police-station. From Cevio you can arrive within half an hour in the marvellous mountain village Bosco Gurin. - In winter time Bosco Gurin is a favourite destination for skiing, snowboarding and sledging.- In summer time it is an ideal stay for large trips providing interesting insights into the culture of the ancient german speaking inhabitants of this high alpine valley. -A further alternative for winter sport activities is the skating rink in the nearby Prato Sornico.

Starting in Cavergno the opportunities for activities in summer are espescially numerous (e.g. excursions by foot or by bike). In Cavergno the Vallemaggia in bifurcating into the valley of Bavona and the valley of Lavizzara. Both valleys have bus lines starting from Cavergno and an extended footpath net. A suspensionrailway is connecting San Carlo with Robiei (1900 m). The famous alpine cataract of Foroglio is a special pleasure to look in the valley of Bavona. At some selected edges the rivers Bavona and Lavizzara may provide opportunities for a refreshing bath. -The swimming-pool of Bignasco may also provide a welcome alternative. There are also some destinations which are worthwile to visit the year over like e.g. the Church of Mogno designed by the famous architect Mario Botta. An architectural trip may also be combined with visit of topics of historiy, art, or traditional local craftsmanship. Special historicial features are explained in the Museum of Vallemaggia in Cevio. -Back at the bottom of the valley in Ponte Brolla and turning aside to Terre di Pedemonte you will arive in Verscio where the famous clown Dimitri has his school and his museum of comics.
